• The comedienne's loss turned out to be a sexy starlet's gain. Remember how the comedienne went all over town announcing that she was getting married to her Fil-Am boyfriend who, according to Funfare's DPA, comes from a decent family? The guy is getting married soon, all right, not to the comedienne but to the now US-based sexy starlet. Did the guy uncover something unpleasant in the comedienne's past?
• This happened decades ago but recalled with amusement by those in the know. When a Hollywood hunk (famous for "historical" roles) came to promote his movie, an actress noted for her classic beauty openly flirted with him. The actor politely told her, "You are a very beautiful lady but I'm sorry, my wife is with me." Nothing happened.
• A now retired bold starlet had a "magical" way of finding money. Everytime she and her live-in actor-boyfriend ran out of cash, she would ask permission to go out in the middle of the night and come back a few hours later loaded with, yes, money. "Magical," isn't it? The boyfriend knew where the money was coming from...did you?

A few years ago when confronted about it on national television, Aubrey Miles didn't actually deny but she never admitted that, yes, she had a child a year before she entered showbiz. The love son, sired by JP Obligacion, is now eight years old. JP is the grandson of comedian Oscar Obligacion who is now based in the US.
Last night on Showbiz News Ngayon (SNN), Aubrey finally told host Boy Abunda that, "Yes, it's true!"
She said that at that time, she was advised not to admit her being an unwed mom because she was being built up as a sexy star, although she resolved to tell all "at the right time," on her own volition.
Away from the limelight, however, Aubrey said that she is a devoted mom to her son whom she delivered in the States. She came to the Philippines barely three months after giving birth and joined showbiz, leaving her child with its father.
All these years, Aubrey said that she and JP have been jointly taking good care of their son who now spends time equally with Aubrey and her boyfriend Troy Montero, by whom she has a months-old child, and JP and his wife who is heavy with their first child. Troy knew about Aubrey's love son all along and treats him like his own.
"I never regretted that I had (the child)," said Aubrey, "but I must admit that I was deeply troubled when I got pregnant then. I wanted to sleep and not wake up...or if I woke up, I would find that it was all a bad dream."
Aubrey and Troy are friends with JP and his wife.
"I would take my son to the mall," added Aubrey, "and attend activities in his school. I was never negligent as a mother."
Anytime now, Aubrey and Troy are leaving for Seattle, Washington State, for their annual vacation with the Monteros (including Troy's brother KC who is married to Geneva Cruz; no, the two are not separated contrary to rumors). They'll be away for three weeks.
Are they planning to get married soon (now that they have a child of their own)?
Hmmmm. In due time...maybe?
Vic Sotto hosts Millionaire on TV5
Yes, the final answer to the guessing game is: Vic Sotto will host the game show Who Wants To Be a Millionaire? which is making a comeback, this time on TV5, effective May 23 (a Saturday).
TV5 is raising the jackpot from P1 million to P2 million. The "lifelines" for contestants are the usual three options: "Ask the Audience," "50/50" and "Call a Friend."
Asked how many millions it took TV5 to get Vic's nod, management was mum.
"We are just thrilled that he said yes," said Jasper Evangelista, TV5 senior VP for Brand Management.
Mall auditions for WWTBAM? will be held at the SM malls starting early next month. Those interested should stay tuned.
